What is scrip?

Scrip is defined as a substitute for legal tender or a form of credit and is also a term for gift card fundraising. RaiseRight was formerly called ShopWithScrip until 2022 when the company underwent a full rebrand.

How does RaiseRight work?

RaiseRight helps you raise money as you shop, dine, or travel to reduce the cost of school, sports, or activities. When you purchase gift cards, shop online, dine at participating restaurants, or book travel, you earn a percentage back from the brand that goes toward your group's fundraiser. RaiseRight works with your routine so you can fundraise without the extra effort.

Is there a fee to join?

No. Starting a program is free, with no minimum order requirements. There are nominal transaction fees that vary based on how your program orders and pays for gift cards. There are no fees associated with online shopping, local dining, or travel bookings.

Do we have to be a registered 501(c)(3) organization to join?

No. We do not require this information to start a program, but we do go through a manual approval process to make sure your organization is a U.S. community-based organization that isn’t for individual benefit or for-profit.

This sounds too good to be true. Where does the money come from?

RaiseRight partners with hundreds of brands, connecting them with thousands of schools, teams, and groups like yours. In return, those brands share a portion of each purchase to support your organization and help lower your costs.

What is gift card fundraising, and how does it work?

Gift card fundraising, also known as scrip, allows you to purchase gift cards at face value to use for everyday expenses like gas, groceries, and more. The brand shares a percentage of each gift card purchase, which becomes earnings for your organization.

What is shop online, and how does it work?

Shop online is a way to earn on your online purchases from hundreds of brands. Select Shop Online on RaiseRight.com or the mobile app to find brands that offer online earnings. Choose a brand and click Shop Now to visit the brand's website, then shop like you normally do and earn by completing a purchase. The brand shares a percentage of each online purchase, which becomes earnings for your organization.

What is local dining, and how does it work?

Local dining is a way to earn at nearby restaurants. Link a credit or debit card in your RaiseRight account and earn 5% every time you use it to dine at 20,000+ participating restaurants nationwide.

What is travel booking, and how does it work?

Travel booking is a way to save and earn on hotels, car rentals, and attractions when you book through RaiseRight. Select Book Travel on RaiseRight.com or the mobile app to search and book travel with your credit or debit card. You'll enjoy competitive prices and high earnings.
