Texas PTA Circulates Funny ‘No-Fundraiser Fundraiser’ Form

We got a real kick out of this one!

In 2015, the parent-teacher association (PTA) of one Texas middle school sent home an ‘alternative fundraising’ form that gave parents a good chuckle and caught the attention of many media outlets.

The original form cleverly acknowledges fundraising fatigue — the burnout associated with dealing with multiple fundraising requests from schools, sports teams, extracurricular activities, or other groups and causes.

Taking a no-frills sarcastic approach, the form encourages parents to save time, effort, and hair-tearing-out by donating the money that they would have spent anyway.

A Better Alternative Fundraising Idea

We certainly understand this PTA’s point of view and know that parents are weary of being asked to participate in fundraisers. 

Luckily, we have an even better option vs. donating money: RaiseRight gift card fundraising (also known as scrip)! 

Don't be scared by the name; rest assured, there is no selling involved and no money to be lost. 

Through gift card fundraising, you simply purchase gift cards for your routine shopping activities: groceries, gas, coffee, dining out, a trip to the mall — you name it. With hundreds of retailers to choose from, there's something for everyone in your organization. 

With each gift card purchase, you earn a certain percentage for your program — anywhere from 1 to 20%. That means if you buy a $100 gift card with 10% earnings, you instantly earn $10 for your program.
