Going once, going twice—sold! An art auction fundraiser is a fun way to support school arts ... programs, foster student creativity, and brighten bidders’ homes with original student artwork. In addition to auctioning off original pieces, you can also make and sell prints at a lower price, especially for higher-quality art created by older students. Moreover, auctions can be held live, online, or a combination of both to allow as many people as possible to join. 

Get kids excited about reading while earning money for your school—it’s easy with a read-a-thon! Once students sign up,  ... they can set personal goals or simply try to read as much as possible. They’ll ask for sponsorships from family, friends, neighbors, or local businesses, and sponsors can donate a set amount (either per minute or page), encouraging kids to read what they want, whenever they have the time. As a bonus, you can offer rewards to further incentivize students, like gift cards from RaiseRight or a pizza party for the biggest bookworms.

Middle and high school students love annual school dances—and they can double as school ... fundraisers! Host dances in the gym or cafeteria to save on overhead costs and charge admission for each student. After covering refreshments, decor, and the cost of a DJ, all profits can go back to the school. Here’s how to make this idea extra exciting: work with students to develop creative themes or host annual traditions like spring fling or winter formal. High school prom can also serve as a fundraising opportunity, although proms tend to have additional expenses that result in lower profits.  

This classic school fundraiser idea is best held in the spring when the weather is warm enough ... for kids to be outside and there’s less chance of rain. Students will have a blast washing and socializing with friends while earning money for their school needs. Ask parents or teachers to volunteer as supervisors, and make sure to spread the word a few weeks beforehand. To earn extra money, you can even set up a concession stand where people can purchase drinks and snacks while their vehicle is getting squeaky clean.
